Congruent and similar triangles

Similar triangles are the same shape at different sizes, so their sides are in proportion. This comes up often on the Digital SAT Math section, in shape problems and in questions about heights or maps.

This lesson shows how to tell when two triangles are similar and how to set up a proportion to find a missing side. Then it covers congruent triangles and scale. Each part has a quiz, and the practice questions use real heights and maps. Simple numbers come first so the proportion is easy to see.
