Transformations and nonlinear systems
A transformation moves, stretches or flips a graph, like changing f(x) into f(x − 2) + 3. A nonlinear system is a pair of equations where at least one graph is not a straight line. The Digital SAT Math section asks about both.
This lesson uses animations to show a parabola sliding around as the numbers in the equation change. Then it moves on to systems with a line and a parabola: how many times they cross and how to find the points. Each part has a quiz, and the practice questions ask for shifts and crossing points.
